The 3-day gorilla trekking safari itinerary in Uganda involves trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to encounter the mountain gorillas, which is the main activity. The first day involves arrival at Entebbe International Airport and transfer to the hotel. The second day is spent trekking with a guide to see the gorillas, while the third day includes a cultural village walk before departure back to the airport.

Day 1 | Drive to Bwindi

Embark on your safari adventure with an early breakfast and pickup by our guide from your Entebbe or Kampala hotel at 07:00hrs. Receive a briefing before traveling to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in southwest Uganda. Along the way, visit a local drum and craft making community, and make a stopover at the Equator for photo opportunities and shopping for crafts and souvenirs. Enjoy lunch in Mbarara town before continuing to Bwindi. Arrive at the park in the late afternoon, check into your lodge, and relax before dinner.

Day 2 | Gorilla Trekking Experience

After breakfast, head to the park headquarters to receive instructions and be divided into groups of 8 before embarking on a gorilla trekking experience. You will have the opportunity to witness the mountain gorillas feeding, playing, and engaging in their daily routines for up to an hour. The trek can take between 2 to 8 hours, depending on the location and movement of the gorillas, and requires long walks in steep, muddy conditions. Return to the lodge and in the evening, relax or visit the Batwa community to learn about their culture. Have dinner and spend the night at the lodge.

Day 3 | Departure

Depart from the “Switzerland of Uganda” after breakfast and begin your journey back to Kampala. You will pass through rolling hills with terraces and enjoy the lush vegetation. Make a stop in Mbarara for lunch and another stop at the Mbambire drum makers’ point to buy some drums. Continue your journey to Kampala and arrive in the late afternoon. The guide will drop you off at the hotel or airport for your flight back home.
