Kibale Forest

Kibale Forest National Park is a true gem of Uganda's wildlife and conservation efforts. Located in the western part of the country, it covers an area of approximately 800 square kilometers and is home to an impressive variety of plant and animal species.

The park is most famous for its chimpanzees, with an estimated 1,500 individuals living in the area. Visitors can take part in chimpanzee tracking excursions to see these amazing creatures up close in their natural habitat. Kibale Forest is also home to other primates, including the red colobus monkey, black-and-white colobus monkey, and olive baboon.

In addition to its primate population, Kibale Forest is also home to over 300 bird species, including the great blue turaco and the African grey parrot. The park is also rich in flora, with over 250 species of trees and more than 300 species of ferns and flowering plants.
